Its been such a long time since I posted on here but I have been doing training for a new job and my little girl Missy has just had puppies. Just had to show you some pictures. I will be putting some of my cards up that I have made over the last few months very soon. I must also catch up on all your lovely projects too. Alfie, the dad is a Lhasa Apso and Missy, the mum is a cross Westie/Yorkie. Wonder what they will look like. Take care. Karen xx
Hi all. Here are a couple of book cards I have recently made, one for my granddaughter who was one in May and the other for a new granddaughter who was born a couple of weeks ago. I now have 5 grandchildren and the girls are overtaking the boys lol. I took inspiration from Maddy at Izzwizz Creations who does some fantastic cards and projects and also looking on You tube.
Its been such a long time that I have posted on here but I have been looking at all your lovely blogs. I need to set aside some time and upload some cards I have made recently and to leave some comments on your blogs ladies. I get so hooked on YT videos. Anyway here is a card I made for my son's girlfriend. I love the shabby chic style and she actually has a quilt cover that I made the squares from. Lol.
I used a photograph of a beautiful dress form that someone had created, but I did ask her first if I could use it for my card and she said I could. I have added her link below so please take a look at her lovely blog.

I made an 8x8 card using a copy of the diecuts Lee from CraftyLoops sent me of the tim holtz die and stamped one, laced another and covered with mme papers on the last one. I also used some pearl trimming around the card and on the dress forms. I so love the photo in the background. This came from Andrea's blog Everyday Beauty. I was googling some images of dress forms and this came up, so I emailed her to see if I could use it and she agreed, so thank you very much Andrea.

I also made an altered note book and a box which I used one of CraftyLoops gorgeous flowers. I can hardly bear to part with them. but at least using them on projects they will stay in the house lol. Please click on the links for further pictures. Thank you for looking.

I painted the wicker frame with a couple of coats of white acrylic paint and I made the flowers with different materials and ribbon, some using the Tim Holtz tattered floral dies. I also added two white foam roses and some pale blue ones that I removed from an old hair clip. Added some beads and a marabu feather and a butterfly that I got from The Works. My daughter wants to change her room colour to Turquoise so I made this in mind. I seem to be obsessed with making flowers at the moment.
There are so many tutorials on youtube and such pretty flowers being made, I thought I would have a go. I have made some using Tim Holtz alterations tattered florals die, some using the running stitch sewing method and one using petals like CraftyLoops petaloops method which I love, but not as good as Lees. Im getting there slowly. I have just purchased a glue gun and I dont know how I managed without one. It was only cheap so I think I need to invest in a better one that has a fine nozle, but it does the job at the moment, with a few burnt fingers I might add. lol. I have also bought some of those cheap boxes to do up and I have an old mirror I want to repair. The mirror is ok but the outside is made of wicker and some of it has broken quite badly, so I thought I could add some of my flowers and trinkets to it. Ill see how it goes. Hope you like my flowers. I had a go at dying some of the lace turquoise using acrylic paint and water, but I think they have come out too dark. I may need to invest in some inks. Oh no, more goodies needed. Please take a look at the links that have inspired me.
I cannot believe I have another card for you to see. I have used the beautiful birdcage die that CraftyLoops sent me. I loved doing this card especially adding all the beads. It did take me a while as I had to make up the droplets that hang off the cage with wire. I need to learn how to do this properly, but its not bad for my first attempt. My only problem is that I cannot bear to part with it. Hope you like it.
Firstly I want to say a very BIG thank you to Craftyloops for the lovely candy I won. There is so much there I cant wait to use, but Im still admiring it all on my table as I just cant bear to part with any of it just yet. There were flowers, stickpins, diecuts, laces, more stickpins to make up yourself which Im looking forward to doing and lots of lovely embellishments too. I am so into the stickpins at the moment. I have been collecting my old bracelets and necklaces to dismantle and use. The card below was made quickly as I always leave things until the last minute but I do like dragonflys.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. This card was made for my son's girlfriend using my new Martha Stewart punch around the page. I was in Taunton after the New Year taking my son home and I just could not resist going into this lovely little craft shop called Craftasmic in the High Street. I got my inspiration from the lovely Andrea. Her blog is EwenStyle please take a look as her creations are just beautiful.
Her family did her a surprise party which I went to and had a great time. Ive known her since I was 11 and we went to school together, so yes you've guessed it, its my 50th in a few weeks time too. (Boo hoo) The older you get the time just seems to go so much quicker. Now on to my card.
Firstly I dropped by beads in my flower bead container all over the floor, but my lovely daughter helped me pick them up and then she sorted them all out for me into the separate compartments. Isn't she lovely. xx Then I went to use my car after not using it for 4 days, saving petrol and it was dead. Silly me, so now my son is coming over to help me. Always comes in threes, I wonder whats next!! Onto my card. This card is for The Shabby Tea Room challenge - week #84 - Pumpkin Garden. I could not wait to do this one as I have the perfect papers from My Minds Eye to use. I have had these papers for a while now, but to scared to use them as they are so delicious. A big thank you goes to Lee from Craftyloops as I followed her tutorial on the daisy flower. I love how the middle bit turned out.
I have had these princess papers for years. I actually bought them from QVC when my youngest daughter was little and was mad on Ariel and all the princesses. She is now 14. I nearly gave the papers away, glad I didn't now with all the grandchildren that keep appearing LOL. Doesn't time fly.
They live in Taunton as she goes to Uni there and we will be spending a few days there next week. Can't wait. She is studying Fine Art so I had to make this beautiful flower as she is always painting gorgeous flowers. Naughty me, yes I have gone and bought the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die as Lee from A wee bit of CraftyLoops told me I NEED them LOL. You were right Lee I really do. They are so fab, I just love them, after seeing all your lovely creations. So many things you can make and also I love the fact that you can use materials, so I am going to make some pretty flowers for headbands that all the little ones wear. Hope you like the card and thanks for popping by. xx
I would love to take the credit for the beautiful layout but all I did was to add more of the flower and butterflys and of course glitter and bling. On the second card I used my Spellbinders Rose Creation die to make the large blue flower and added a diamondy button in the middle. I love the way you can make so many different types of roses or flowers with this die and I must get the Tim Holtz tattered die as I see so many clever bloggers using this in different ways.
I seem to spend most of my time blog hopping these days. I just received my new cd of Debbi Moore designs - Shabby Chic, so I thought I would print off some papers and make a card. I used the lovely Sassy stamp Vintage Boutique for this one which you can get from Funky Kits.
I tried to distress the edges with a knife but you cannot really see from the photo. Must invest in a Tim Holtz tool. Added to my list.

Lace from stash

Promarkers used: sunkissed pink, blush, Ivory and pastel pink for cheeks

cocoa, cinnamon, tan, pastel yellow, buttercup, peach, oatmeal and sandstone

chalked around the stamped image. Tried using distress ink, but did not have any foam so tried using make up sponges, but did not really get the desired effect, so went back to my good old chalkes.

Swirly stamp on corners of image.

Spacer metal buttons

I have had the ideas in my head but had not actually started it until today, so this is why I am on here so late as my head is now buzzing with ideas. Hope you like them.
Swirl leaf flourish is Marianne creatables die. I used a fiskars paper lace border punch and best of all I used the Spellbinders Rose Creations die which I just had to get when I saw this lovely rose on Julie's inkspot blog. Made on an 11 x 6 card.
This was made on an 8 x 8 card. Thanks for looking and your comments are very much appreciated. I can't believe I have another card for you to see. This is my masterpiece thanks to Ooops Cluttered Corner blog I followed her tutorial on how to colour in using promarkers. Her blog has inspired me as she is such a brilliant designer. A big thanks Nic. I also looked on The Crafty Cuttings of Wiccababe blog for different hair colours. I just love these sassy stamps from Funky Kits website
