Dress form card

Here is a card I made for my daughter's 15th birthday and a couple of crafty presents I made for her which she loved. I used a photograph of a beautiful dress form that someone had created, but I did ask her first if I could use it for my card and she said I could. I have added her link below so please take a look at her lovely blog.
I made an 8x8 card using a copy of the diecuts Lee from CraftyLoops sent me of the tim holtz die and stamped one, laced another and covered with mme papers on the last one. I also used some pearl trimming around the card and on the dress forms. I so love the photo in the background. This came from Andrea's blog Everyday Beauty. I was googling some images of dress forms and this came up, so I emailed her to see if I could use it and she agreed, so thank you very much Andrea.

I also made an altered note book and a box which I used  one of CraftyLoops gorgeous flowers. I can hardly bear to part with them. but at least using them on projects they will stay in the house lol. Please click on the links for further pictures.  Thank you for looking.

Altered Mirror

Well I finally had a go at this mirror that I nearly threw away as some of the wicker had broken away.
AFTER
BEFORE
I painted the wicker frame with a couple of coats of white acrylic paint and I made the flowers with different materials and ribbon, some using the Tim Holtz tattered floral dies. I also added two white foam roses and some pale blue ones that I removed from an old hair clip. Added some beads and a marabu feather and a butterfly that I got from The Works.  My daughter wants to change her room colour to Turquoise so I made this in mind. I seem to be obsessed with making flowers at the moment.
Thank you for looking and have a lovely weekend. Karen xx

Fabric Flowers

Hello , Ive been busy making flowers this weekend. There are so many tutorials on youtube and such pretty flowers being made, I thought I would have a go. I have made some using Tim Holtz alterations tattered florals die, some using the running stitch sewing method and one using petals like CraftyLoops petaloops method which I love, but not as good as Lees. Im getting there slowly. I have just purchased a glue gun and I dont know how I managed without one. It was only cheap so I think I need to invest in a better one that has a fine nozle, but it does the job at the moment, with a few burnt fingers I might add. lol. I have also bought some of those cheap boxes to do up and I have an old mirror I want to repair. The mirror is ok but the outside is made of wicker and some of it has broken quite badly, so I thought I could add some of my flowers and trinkets to it. Ill see how it goes. Hope you like my flowers. I had a go at dying some of the lace turquoise using acrylic paint and water, but I think they have come out too dark. I may need to invest in some inks. Oh no, more goodies needed. Please take a look at the links that have inspired me.
  • Craftyloops blog

  • SaCrafters- youtube channel - cannot seem to copy her link, but if you go on youtube and put in her name it should show you some of her videos.
Using lace, ribbon and materials I already had, but need to top up on my lace. Thanks for popping by. x

    My favourite Birdcage

Hi everyone. I cannot believe I have another card for you to see. I have used the beautiful birdcage die that CraftyLoops sent me. I loved doing this card especially adding all the beads. It did take me a while as I had to make up the droplets that hang off the cage with wire. I need to learn how to do this properly, but its not bad for my first attempt. My only problem is that I cannot bear to part with it. Hope you like it.
    • Prima paper - pixie glen
    • Tim Holtz birdcage and bird diecut from the lovely Craftyloops that I inked up with
    • Antique linen distress ink and then glittered
    • Butterflies stamped onto prima paper with versafine archival vintage sepia ink
    • Bird die inked with broken china distress ink and then glittered
    • Bead charm made using jump rings and beads from an old bracelet
    • Droplet beads made up using wire and beads from stash

    Dragonfly card

Hi everyone. Firstly I want to say a very BIG thank you to Craftyloops for the lovely candy I won. There is so much there I cant wait to use, but Im still admiring it all on my table as I just cant bear to part with any of it just yet. There were flowers, stickpins, diecuts, laces, more stickpins to make up yourself which Im looking forward to doing and lots of lovely embellishments too. I am so into the stickpins at the moment. I have been collecting my old bracelets and necklaces to dismantle and use. The card below was made quickly as I always leave things until the last minute but I do like dragonflys.
    •  Papers from Making cards magazine and dragonfly
    • Doilies from Poppyscabin and I cut one to make the lace along the bottom
    • String pearls from stash
