Happy 50th to a very Dear Friend

I made this card for my friend's 50th. Her family did her a surprise party which I went to and had a great time. Ive known her since I was 11 and we went to school together, so yes you've guessed it, its my 50th in a few weeks time too. (Boo hoo) The older you get the time just seems to go so much quicker. Now on to my card.

The Shabby Tea Room

What a day I had yesterday. Firstly I dropped by beads in my flower bead container all over the floor, but my lovely daughter helped me pick them up and then she sorted them all out for me into the separate compartments. Isn't she lovely. xx  Then I went to use my car after not using it for 4 days, saving petrol and it was dead. Silly me, so now my son is coming over to help me. Always comes in threes, I wonder whats next!! Onto my card. This card is for The Shabby Tea Room challenge - week #84 - Pumpkin Garden. I could not wait to do this one as I have the perfect papers from My Minds Eye to use. I have had these papers for a while now, but to scared to use them as they are so delicious. A big thank you goes to Lee from Craftyloops as I followed her tutorial on the daisy flower. I love how the middle bit turned out.

My Little Princess

A pretty princess card for a pretty princess, my granddaughter who will be 2 on Sunday. I have had these princess papers for years. I actually bought them from QVC when my youngest daughter was little and was mad on Ariel and all the princesses. She is now 14. I nearly gave the papers away, glad I didn't now with all the grandchildren that keep appearing LOL. Doesn't time fly.
The other card I have made is for my son's girlfriend who will be 21 on Tuesday. They live in Taunton as she goes to Uni there and we will be spending a few days there next week. Can't wait. She is studying Fine Art so I had to make this beautiful flower as she is always painting gorgeous flowers. Naughty me, yes I have gone and bought the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die as Lee from A wee bit of CraftyLoops told me I NEED them LOL. You were right Lee I really do. They are so fab, I just love them, after seeing all your lovely creations. So many things you can make and also I love the fact that you can use materials, so I am going to make some pretty flowers for headbands that all the little ones wear. Hope you like the card and thanks for popping by. xx
  • Digi design printed onto square card from CD
  • Tattered Florals die used to make flower using black mesh and white mesh from stash and black and white flowery paper and greyish paper alternated for rest of flower
  • metal flower button
  • glittered 21 using wordart on computer.

Flowers

Found these beautiful digi image toppers on one of my cds and made my friends' birthday cards with. I would love to take the credit for the beautiful layout but all I did was to add more of the flower and butterflys and of course glitter and bling. On the second card I used my Spellbinders Rose Creation die to make the large blue flower and added a diamondy button in the middle. I love the way you can make so many different types of roses or flowers with this die and I must get the Tim Holtz tattered die as I see so many clever bloggers using this in different ways.

Side view of the flower, but a bit blurry as my batteries died in my camera. Thanks for looking and I would like to enter the first card into The Shabby Tea Room challenge - week #83 Fall Flowers

Sugar Bowl Challenge

Sorry ladies for not posting as often as most of you, I just don't know how you all craft so much and have the time to blog hop. I seem to spend most of my time blog hopping these days. I just received my new cd of Debbi Moore designs - Shabby Chic, so I thought I would print off some papers and make a card. I used the lovely Sassy stamp Vintage Boutique for this one which you can get from Funky Kits.
  • Debbi Moore papers. I tried to distress the edges with a knife but you cannot really see from the photo. Must invest in a Tim Holtz tool. Added to my list.
  • Lace from stash
  • Promarkers used: sunkissed pink, blush, Ivory and pastel pink for cheeks
  • cocoa, cinnamon, tan, pastel yellow, buttercup, peach, oatmeal and sandstone
  • chalked around the stamped image. Tried using distress ink, but did not have any foam so tried using make up sponges, but did not really get the desired effect, so went back to my good old chalkes.
  • Swirly stamp on corners of image.
  • Spacer metal buttons

Daughter's 18th Birthday Cards

It is my daughter's 18th tomorrow and as usual I have left it until the last minute to make some cards. I have had the ideas in my head but had not actually started it until today, so this is why I am on here so late as my head is now buzzing with ideas. Hope you like them.
The papers are free from Making Cards Magazine. Swirl leaf flourish is Marianne creatables die. I used a fiskars paper lace border punch and best of all I used the Spellbinders Rose Creations die which I just had to get when I saw this lovely rose on Julie's inkspot blog. Made on an 11 x 6 card.
Spellbinders Rose Creations
This one was made using my old favourite mcs cd using papers and designing topper and then adding a lace ribbon with a brad into a star spacer. This was made on an 8 x 8 card. Thanks for looking and your comments are very much appreciated. Karen xx

My Masterpiece

Hi again. I can't believe I have another card for you to see. This is my masterpiece thanks to Ooops Cluttered Corner blog  I followed her tutorial on how to colour in using promarkers. Her blog has inspired me as she is such a brilliant designer. A big thanks Nic. I also looked on The Crafty Cuttings of Wiccababe blog for different hair colours. I just love these sassy stamps from Funky Kits website
  • Papers from cd cut into borders
  • spellbinders nesties
  • sassy stamp - hippie chick
  • promarkers used - coral, sunkissed pink, blush
  • walnut, cocoa, cinnamon, tan
  • tulip yellow, buttercup, pear green
  • pastel blue for her eyes and pastel pink for her rosy cheeks.
  • Last but not least, flower spacers and gems
By the way the image took me 2 hours to actually colour in, so I am not going to be in a hurry to give this card away. Hopefully I will get better with my blending. Thanks for looking. xx

    Beautiful Butterfly

Couldn't wait to show you this one. I have been meaning to get this butterfly die for ages and I've finally got it. It is the Marianne butterfly die #2. I also bought the spellbinders rose creation die, but I haven't used it yet, but watch this space.
Using Marianne creatable butterfly die and glittering it using a spray adhesive, what a mess I got myself into using this spray. Also I used sizzix texture plates on my Big Shot machine and then added a few gems to finish off. I have seen so many beautiful cards made using white on white I thought I would give it a go, but just had to add a touch of glitter and gems. Thanks for looking. xx

    Two more mens cards

Hi, I thought I would add these two cards, one for father's day and for a birthday.
Papers again from cd, this time using an element sheet.
This one was also made using an element sheet.

    Men's cards

Good morning to you all. It's my youngest son's birthday next week and he has now moved to the countryside near Oxford so I thought these cards would be great for him. I have recently had my nails done. Very pretty I might add, but what a nightmare trying to craft. It is so hard to even pick anything up off the table.
I love the tractor image on this one and yes its from one of my mcs cds. I put two different papers together and made a border down the middle of the card.

This one I changed the image inside the frame. As my son is a keen fisherman I thought this digi image would be perfect. What a nightmare colouring it was. I used promarkers which I am not used to. I need more practice. Also I noticed that on some of my promarkers they hardly worked, only the large end. Is this because they are stored upright. I have since layed them down. The digi image was from Digistamp Boutique. Have a lovely weekend. Karen xx

    Mother's Day

Well I've finally finished my mother's day cards at last. Left it to the last minute as always. I found bending the peel offs around corners quite difficult.

    • used glue pen and glitter to finish off

    Friends' cards

Hello again. Finally managed to get on the computer, as I had to pick up my grandson from school yesterday. He is 5 and he had me making daisy chains all the way home. I thought my school run days were over as my youngest is nearly 14. I don't mind really as he loves me picking him up from school. I have got both my grandsons for the weekend. What to do??  Hopefully the weather will stay nice and we can take them out.  Now back to the crafts. My O/H thinks I'm beginning to get obsessed with cards and blogs. • coloured in using pencils
    • designed using my craft studio cd papers & topper
So far all my cards have been pink. I must change my colours.

    Baby Cards

I just had to upload these cards I made for my grandaughter's 1st birthday. They come from The Clipart Fairy Book A Easel & Plaques cd which you can find HERE
    I absolutely love her website.

I made this card using The Clip Art Fairy again for my daughter's first baby and my fourth grandchild. Her baby is due at the beginning of June so I will be putting a name plate in place of the flowers. I just had to show you the card. Made into an easel card using lots of glitter again. I think I put too much on this time as you cannot see the lovely pattern on the papers. You can get the interactive image HERE
